InShortViral: A  teenager student was arrested after he hacked his school’s database  system to change grades and improved his class rank.
Teenager namely Saivamsi Hanumanthu aged 17 was arrested in  North Carolina in USA on Wednesday. Authorities alleged that he broke  into a high school computer system and changed the grades of few  students.This hacking incident took place on October 2015 at Panther Creek  High School in Carolina. After month long investigations, he was finally  put behind the bars. If found guilty, he could be sentenced to more  than 4 years in prison.
Saivamsi hailed from Pilot Hill Drive in Morrisville was  charged with felony accessing government computers, felony breaking and  entering, and doing crime by accessing government computers.
According to statement by Police, on October 13, 2015, School  Authorities reported that their school’s database was hacked and grades  were changed of some students.
School Administrators said that the modifications changed the class rank and GPA of the students.
WRAL News (local television station) reported that, about 90 Grades were changed and almost half grades were of Hanumanthu. Police ultimately traced the hack back to a library where Hanumnathu had volunteered for about 250 hours. A teacher had been closely  observing him at the high school for working on Laptop while being in  campus after hours. A CCTV footage also revealed his presence in campus.
According to the Warrant, two weeks before hacking incident took  place, the Power-school System, a state Database that traces student’s  attendance and grades was hacked in three different incidents. In this  hacking attack, the grades and class ranks of six students were changed.  As we know Hanumanthu changed about 90 grades, half of the grades belonged to him. It was also witnessed that Hanumanthu’s class rank raised from 67th to 7th. Some seniors of his school also  witnessed that their rank was increased due to grade changes.
Almost all changes were made from Schools Computer Sytem’s IP Address  but  Police also discovered that one hack was carried from a computer  at the Wake County’s West Regional Library on Louis Stephens Road.
Police recovered a laptop and seven USB flash drives from the  student’s residence less than a month after their inspection began but  they didn’t imposed charges on him until this week, earlier reports  disclosed.
Hanumanthu was freed from the Wake County jail on  Wednesday and $15,000 unsecured bond was given to him and is due back in  court on Feb. 25.

Hacking is illegal and if you even tried to do it, you may be put behind the bars. Recently, Bill Gates  also confessed that he hacked his school computers to meet girls and to  change grades.
