Mission to the Moon : Pocket Spacecraft

Posted by All Tutor Flashing Rom on Wednesday, August 28, 2013

To all those space enthusiasts, sci-fi  fans and those people who just love doing the extraordinary.
This is sort of a dream come true!

A British company has planned a mission to the moon and it wants YOUR help! You can send you very own spacecraft to the moon for just £ 199 ( that's really cheap to be able to send something of your own to the moon!).
The company plans to send thousands of these miniature probes which are about the size of a CD and as thin as paper;  the sponsor can customise the spacecraft with a picture and a message it transmits (with just a web browser!); technical explorers can also modify the software and hardware of the space probe.

The owners can monitor the progress of their probes from design and construction till it arrives at its destination via the Pocket Mission Control App for their smartphones (Android and iOS). The App also contains a augmented reality feature, where the user can point their phone into the sky and find the current location of their probe.

The Pocket Spacecrafts will be loaded onto an Interplanetary CubeSat Mothership that will take them to the moon where the probes will be released.

On completion of the mission a mission manual will be specially created for the owners, it will be available as an eBook and also as an archive quality printed edition.

The program also allows for many sponsors to send a Pocket Spacecraft together, hoping to gain more supporters for the mission.

The Program however is of long term; the probes are expected to be released onto the moon in June 2016. If the program is a success this space exploration project for everyone may even expand with missions to other planets!
